PADI NIGHT SPECIALTY DIVER COURSE

 The PADI Night Diver Course teaches you how to dive safely and confidently after dark. At night, the underwater world changes—many animals come out that you don’t see during the day, and even familiar dive sites feel new and exciting. 

The PADI Night Diver Specialty Course is designed to teach you how to safely explore the underwater world after dark. Night diving is a unique experience that reveals a different side of the ocean—many marine creatures that hide during the day come out at night, and familiar dive sites take on a new and mysterious feel.

During the course, you’ll learn how to use dive lights properly, communicate with your buddy in the dark, navigate underwater with limited visibility, and stay oriented throughout the dive. You'll also practice entering and exiting the water safely at night and managing your gear with care in low-light conditions.

The course includes three night dives, usually done over multiple evenings, and is led by a certified PADI Instructor. To take part, you must be at least 12 years old and certified as a PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent).

By the end of the course, you’ll feel more confident diving at night and will be equipped with the skills to explore safely after sunset. The certification also counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

 Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 10 years old to enroll in the PADI Open Water Diver course. For participants aged 10 to 14, PADI offers the Junior Open Water Diver certification, which has depth and supervision restrictions.

Medical Fitness: Participants must complete a medical questionnaire to assess their fitness for diving. If they answer "yes" to any of the questions, they may need to obtain medical clearance from a physician before participating in the course.

Swimming Skills: While there are no specific swimming requirements for the PADI Open Water Diver course, participants should be comfortable in the water and have basic swimming skills. They will need to demonstrate basic water competency skills, such as floating and treading water, during the course.

After completing the PADI Night Diver Specialty Course, you’ll be officially certified as a PADI Night Diver. This means you have the skills and knowledge to safely plan and enjoy dives at night. You’ll know how to use dive lights, communicate with your buddy in the dark, navigate underwater, and handle the special challenges of night diving.

With this certification, you can confidently explore dive sites after sunset and experience the underwater world in a whole new way. It also counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating, helping you progress in your dive training.
