Theory and Knowledge Development: The course begins with theoretical knowledge development, covering topics such as dive accident prevention, emergency management, self-rescue techniques, recognizing and managing stress in other divers, and responding to various diving emergencies. Participants may study through self-study materials, classroom sessions, or online eLearning modules.
Confined Water Training: Participants undergo confined water training sessions in a pool or shallow water environment, where they learn and practice essential rescue skills, including self-rescue techniques, assisting tired or panicked divers, providing emergency oxygen, and managing unconscious divers at the surface and underwater.
Open Water Scenarios: The course includes open water scenarios where participants apply the knowledge and skills learned during the theoretical and confined water sessions in real-life diving situations. Under the guidance of a certified PADI Instructor, participants simulate various rescue scenarios, such as assisting a distressed diver at the surface, conducting underwater search and recovery exercises, managing diver emergencies, and coordinating emergency response procedures.
Emergency Management: Participants learn how to effectively manage diving emergencies, assess the situation, provide assistance to distressed divers, and coordinate emergency response efforts with other divers and emergency medical services when necessary. Emphasis is placed on safety, teamwork, communication, and quick, decisive action.
Rescue Skills Development: Throughout the course, participants develop and refine a range of rescue skills, including responding to panicked divers, assisting unresponsive divers, conducting emergency ascents, providing rescue breaths and CPR, managing equipment problems, and effectively communicating with divers in distress.
