PADI ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE

 The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course (AOWDC) is an advanced scuba diving certification program offered by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI). It is designed to further develop and refine the diving skills, knowledge, and experience of certified Open Water Divers.

 The prerequisites for enrolling in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD) course are straightforward. Participants must meet the following criteria

Certification: Participants must be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver or have an equivalent certification from another recognized scuba diving agency. This ensures that participants have a basic understanding of scuba diving fundamentals and are prepared for more advanced training.

Minimum Age: Participants must be at least 12 years old to enroll in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course. There is no maximum age limit, provided participants meet the other prerequisites and medical requirements.

Medical Fitness: Participants are required to complete a medical questionnaire to assess their fitness for diving. If they answer "yes" to any of the medical history questions, they may need to obtain medical clearance from a physician before participating in the course.

Parental Consent: For participants under the age of 18, parental or guardian consent is required to enroll in the course.

Equipment: Participants must have basic scuba diving equipment, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device (BCD), dive computer or depth gauge with timer, and exposure protection (wetsuit). Some dive centers may provide rental equipment or include it in the course fee.

Learning Materials: Participants are required to study the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual or complete the eLearning modules, which cover advanced diving topics and skills. They must review the materials and complete knowledge reviews or quizzes before attending the practical training sessions.

Attendance: Participants are expected to attend all scheduled adventure dives and associated knowledge development sessions as outlined by their instructor or dive center.

 Enhanced Skills and Knowledge: Certified Advanced Open Water Divers have honed their diving skills and expanded their knowledge beyond the basics covered in the Open Water Diver course. They have completed additional training and practical experience in various diving environments and specialized diving activities.

Deeper Diving: AOWD certification allows divers to explore deeper depths than those allowed for Open Water Divers. With appropriate training and supervision, AOWD divers can safely descend to a maximum depth of 30 meters/100 feet, opening up a wider range of dive sites and underwater environments.
